Next Project - Kainana

I have spent a few days doing a major sorting of my yarn stash. There are so many tempting colours, but they never seem to be the correct ply for patterns I would currently like to try. I have such a large stash now that I am determined not to buy new yarn and use some of my stash up. I really enjoy short row knitting and with that in mind I have chosen a cardigan by Heidrun Liegmann called Kainana  .

I never know how a new pattern is going to work out size wise until I have knitted it once and with that in mind I am doing a practice run using some 4ply yarn in a pink variegated colour. I have the same yarn in variagated blue which I will probably use on the short row edging.

I am not fond of knitting on circular needles but there is no option for this garment and so I began as instructed using four double ended needles:-

After I had completed the rather pretty central star section I was able to move onto an actual circular needle to continue the rest of the back:-

Mobious Cowl Finished

It has taken a while but my Möbius Cowl is now finished. I am really pleased with the result, the shading in the yarn has fallen into lovely bands of colour entirely without any planning on my part and it is lovely and warm against my neck and face. Christmas and various New Year activities added to the time it took to finish but here it is:-

Now I need to start thinking about the next thing, I hate to sit without something to do with my hands. I would really like to do more short row knitting, or there are several Jane Thornley patterns I would like to try. I have so much wool in my stash that it has to be something that I already have the wool for. I shall put my thinking cap on.
